With great excitement the Noosa Tigers AFC are proud to see Noosa junior Jack Payne make his debut for Brisbane Lions tonight against Richmond at Metricon Stadium.
Jack played his junior football at Noosa Tigers and throughout his juniors and it showed how talented he was. After chatting to Dave Carroll, who coached Jack in the Under 19s in 2017, he said this about Jack:
" Jack was a truly humble kid who was always there for his mates, he was a true team player. He was known for crashing packs and taking big marks across halfback which lead to him dominating the opposition forwards. Although centre halfback was his predominate position he was able to swing forward and kick goals when needed proving how much of a versatile player he was. in his later years of junior football he had to juggle mutiple sporting commitments namely athletics (discuss) where he represented Australia in the junior ranks. After deciding to give AFL his full dedication Jack went to another level progressing through the Brisbane Lions Academy ranks, national championships, premierships for Noosa Tigers in 2017 (U19s), NEAFL premiership with Brisbane Lions and many more achievements. In saying this Jack was never one to play for accolades, as I mentioned before he was a team player through and through, a very humble man backed up by caring and loving family."
The Noosa Tigers AFC family congratulate Jack in achieving yet another goal and wish you all the best in a long career at the AFL level.
Tigers dominate Kings!
The Rococo's bar and bistro Noosa Tigers have made it three wins on the trot to start the 2020 Hart Sport Div 1 season with a thumping 10 goal win at Weyba Road last Saturday. In the first ever live-streamed game on the Noosa Tigers Facebook page it was the premiership favourites who completely stamped their authority in the game after qtr time and really if not for inaccurate kicking the margin would have been a lot more.
